About us

The Italian Association for the Study of English (Associazione Italiana di Anglistica [AIA]) was founded with the primary goal of promoting and fostering English studies in Italy. The AIA Association is dedicated to supporting and coordinating scientific research in this field, as well as facilitating connections between Italian scholars and those from English-speaking countries. Additionally, the AIA Association strives to enhance and expand publishing and research activities in the field of English studies through its various initiatives. As outlined in its statutes, the AIA Association has the specific institutional responsibility of organising a biennial conference in Italy, alternating with the European ESSE Association’s biennial conference.
