English and Other Languages across Cultures, Classrooms and Beyond. Task-Based Language Teaching and Discipline-Informed Language Education in Contexts of Mltilingualism, Migration and Global Mobility 15-16 October 2026, University of Siena, Italy The international conference English and Other Languages across Cultures, Classrooms and Beyond will take place at the University of Siena on 15-16 October 2026. It brings together researchers, language educators and practitioners to explore the intersection between Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) and Discipline-Informed Language Education (DILE) across diverse educational contexts. The conference focuses particularly on English language and higher education, while also opening up to other languages and educational sectors. With TBLT providing a common thread, it explores how language education intersects with disciplinary learning across contexts where language is learned through, alongside, or in relation to disciplinary content, including academic and professional communication, EMI and CLIL. Teacher education and technology-mediated learning and teaching will also inform reflection across these areas. The programme features keynote lectures by Giuseppe Balirano, Rosemary Erlam and Rod Ellis, an invited lecture by Carmen Argondizzo, research presentations, poster sessions, and a round table on TBLT in Italy, bringing together perspectives across languages, disciplines and educational contexts.
