    CALL FOR PAPERS: Gender and/in Migration

    Parthenope University of Naples in collaboration with Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln (UK) and G. d’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara. Sponsored by the L&GEND Research Group and CRILLS

    This conference aims to explore narratives and representations of migration and the diaspora across temporal and geographical borders, with a special attention for the gendering of migrants’ identities. It intersects the interdisciplinary fields of travel writing, diaspora and migration studies with gender studies to examine stories of human migration and how they are shaped in multiple media. Speakers are invited to investigate the modes and ways of migrant identity formation and reformation, their circulation and the diverse issues arising from representations of migrant identities. Potential topics may include:

    Authorship and reception of migrant journey narratives

    Expatriation and exile

    Displacement

    Economic migrancy

    Forced migration and the diaspora

    Migrating sensibilities

    Gender models in migrant communities

    Heterosexuality and homosexuality in migrant communities

    Migrant travel

    Undocumented migrancy

    Diaspora, colonial studies and changing ideas of gender

    Memory and gender

    Gendered experiences of migration

    Migration and parenthood

    Language, gender and migration

    We would ask for 20-minute final papers. 250-word proposals (either in English or in Italian) and a short bio note (50 words) should be submitted by 15th March 2025 to raffaella.antinucci@uniparthenope.it, claudia.capancioni@bishopg.ac.uk, mariaconcetta.costantini@unich.it

    We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the Conference on Extended reality and technology-enhanced language learning and communication to be held July 16-17, 2025 at the University of Bergamo, Italy. The conference marks the end of the PRIN research project “Enhancing ESP Competence in Educational and Professional Contexts via Augmented Reality” (www.esp-xr.eu) and has been organized in collaboration with CERLIS (Centro di Ricerca sui Linguaggi Specialistici) and CLAVIER (Corpus and Language Variation In English Research).

    Dates: July 16-17, 2025
    Venue: University of Bergamo, Italy

    The organizing committee of the International Conference on Extended Reality and Technology-Enhanced Language Learning invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit papers exploring Extended Reality (XR) —including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR)— and other technology-enhanced approaches and their application to language learning and communication. This conference aims to advance theoretical and applied research in XR and technology-enhanced language learning by providing a platform for discussions on innovations, pedagogical frameworks, and emerging trends.

    Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research papers relevant to the themes of the conference. Please follow the APA style (7th ed.).

    Abstracts (300-400 words including references) should be sent by 12 March 2025, to patrizia.anesa@unibg.it and to valeria.giofre@unibg.it

    Abstracts should include research questions, a brief outline of methodology and analytical methods, and any theoretical issues addressed, as well as describing the data analysed.
